Households in the top 20% of the income distribution now reflect ~39% of all spending on goods and services.
Their concentration is even higher in new vehicle purchases, where they make up ~55% of total spend.
This is followed by households in the 60% to 80% income bracket, which represent ~23% of total spending and ~21% of new vehicle purchases.
As a result, nearly 8 out of 10 new vehicles are bought by the top 40% of households.
Meanwhile, the bottom 20% contribute just 9% of total spending and a mere 4% of new vehicle demand.

A new palace belonging to Putin has been discovered in occupied Crimea, built on the site of the former estate of the fugitive pro-Russian Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
Allies of Alexei Navalny released a new investigation into the palace, located on Cape Aya, where Yanukovych’s estate once stood before he fled to Russia in 2014.
Investigators estimate the palace’s value at nearly $128 million. The main house covers 9,000 square meters, and the estate includes a pier, an artificial beach, a helipad, and a 5,000-square-meter guesthouse.
Inside the main building, investigators documented a 233-square-meter dining hall with a table for 20, a 154-square-meter bedroom with a 50-square-meter marble bathroom and Jacuzzi, and another 183-square-meter bedroom.
Architectural plans and photos released by the investigation show that the complex also contains a private hospital, a spa with a pool, a hammam, and a cryotherapy chamber, as well as massive halls and bedrooms.
