Terrifying chart #2 Again, what if the size of the outsized BTC returns are gradually converging to something tiny, e.g. tvm? Totally plausible. Is BTC still a great long-term investment? Sure. Likely still well above most public market stocks, and better…
Finally some others are noticing in the BTC charts what we noticed long ago
In short, even if BTC does essentially go up forever (totally plausible) that doesn’t mean the rate won’t decrease over time
And indeed, the rate at which $BTC goes up has been emperically decreasing
And indeed there are strong reasons to believe this decline in acceleration will continue
Is $BTC a great medium-term bet? Yes. Far better risk reward profile than a lot of traditional instruments, if held for more than e.g. 8 years.
But is $BTC the poverty to overnight riches it once was?
No. Not at all.
On the other hand, $BTC is now legitimately of lower risk than it was in the earlier days.
Back then, much higher risk that a Bitcoin clone could’ve won, if something terrible could’ve happened, or if Satoshi had just decided early on that he wants to start fresh with a new coin, or whatever. Far less chance of that now.
So, want overnight riches?
$BTC no longer the way for that.
But, opportunities for that do still exist elsewhere in crypto, in fact likely more now than ever before, for now.
