— What many forget, memecoins are not really about the memes

Rather they’re about movements, rallying people around a mission.

Movementcoins would be a better name, if it weren’t so long, and yes I’m aware of the double meaning, which makes it even better.

Why are so many bad at identifying the top memecoins?

Because most are terrible at rallying people, have a terrible sense for what would get the early adopter types hyped up.

Memecoins are about rallying people, bringing together the best early adopters, even if it may not be clear exactly what the cause is yet.

(No, dogecoin wasn’t first pure memecoin, as it had mining, and therefore a major plausible utility of being a fallback of last resort, shouud bitcoin ever get hijacked. Not pure meme. Maybe there were other pure memecoins before, but $PEOPLE felt like the first modern one to me.)

Wild guess — When there’s a highly-anticipated upward movement of the majors, then all of the money heads to those,

and then only once those are anticipated to be nearing a local top, then do the gains from those head back into the smaller coins & memecoins.
