Marine Le Pen, who is currently leading in opinion polls for the 2027 election in France, has been sentenced to 4 years in prison and banned from running in the next election

Marine Le Pen is CURRENTLY the front runner to be the next President of France if they held the elections today. So what did the left in France do? They just banned her from running and sentenced her to 4 years in prison on BS charges.

The left did this to Bolsonaro, Trump, Imran Khan, Matteo Salvini, Calin Georgescu and more.

There should be blanket economic sanctions on the elite leftists in France until this stops.

The judge said Le Pen was “at the heart” of a scheme to embezzle EU funds to pay party staff.

The judgment concerns 12 assistants.

Investigators accused Le Pen of managing the illegal use of European subsidies between 2004 and 2016, when she served as an MEP. They stated that instead of working in Strasbourg, assistants were to work for Le Pen’s National Rally party in a domestic capacity.

“It was found that all these people actually worked for the party, that their deputy did not commission them any tasks,” said the judge. Assistants then “passed from one deputy to another.”

“It was not about combining the work of assistants, but about combining the budgets of MPs,” said the judge.

Other commentators have expressed surprise at not only the verdict but also the decision to exclude her from elections.

Pierre Lellouche, a lawyer and former Deputy of the French National Assembly, appeared on CNEWS to point out that the current prime minister, François Bayrou, faced the same charge and suffered no consequences.

He noted that the “separation of powers” is increasingly shifting towards judges, and noted that in many previous elections, these judges have tipped the scales in favor of certain candidates.

Another attorney, Maxime Thiebaut, also brought up the case of Bayrou, saying:

“At the very least, you know, it comes as a surprise that Marine Le Pen has been found guilty. I would point out that Mr. (François) Bayrou was acquitted on a similar charge, because it was considered that he had not acted with intent. So I wasn’t in Mr. Bayrou’s file and I wasn’t in Ms. Le Pen’s file, but I note that there was also an expectation that Madame Le Pen would be guilty.

"For years we've been told everything we fund and support is in the name of our shared democratic values, everything from our Ukraine policy to digital censorship is billed as a defence of democracy, but when we see European courts cancelling elections and senior officials threatening to cancel others we ought to ask ourselves if we are holding ourselves to an appropriately high standard."

A number of top-politicians in the West have been sentenced for or prosecuted for crimes that risked making them ineligible for holding public office:

1. Donald Trump

- Investigated for his role in the January 6 riots.

2. Marine Le Pen

- Sentenced for embezzling European Parliament funds, banned from running for President.

3. Matteo Salvini

- Charged for kidnapping in a case that stemmed from his 2019 decision as Interior Minister to block 147 illegal migrants from disembarking an NGO ship. Conviction could have led to a prison sentence and a ban from public office. He was ultimately acquitted.

4. Geert Wilders

- Convicted in 2016 of inciting discrimination for anti-Moroccan remarks, with an appeal upholding the conviction in 2020. Additional conviction could trigger a ban from office.

5. Călin Georgescu

- An independent candidate who won the first round of Romania’s 2024 presidential election. After evidence of Russian interference emerged, Romania’s Constitutional Court annulled the first-round results and blocked him from running again.

6. Jair Bolsonaro.

- Blocked by the Supreme Court from running president in 2026 for questioning Brazilian vote counting procedures. He was just charged with an attempted coup against President Lula and risks 20+ years in prison.

7. Nikola Gruevski

- The former Prime Minister of North Macedonia was sentenced to 2 years for corruption in 2018 and fled to Hungary to avoid prison.

If we look further back in history, Jean-Marie Le Pen was convicted multiple times for hate speech. He was fined heavily and faced suspended sentences. While not banned, a harsher penalty could have triggered ineligibility to run for president.
