Tennessee:  A correctional officer was injured during a riot at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Center Sunday night, according to authorities.

According to CoreCivic, the company that manages the facility, a large group of inmates left their cells and began acting “disruptive and confrontational” in the inner yard late Sunday evening.

The inmates attempted to destroy equipment, compromised security cameras, set several fires, and ignored commands from the staff, according to CoreCivic’s report.

One officer was reportedly attacked during the incident and required medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
