Foreign ministers from 9 EU countries, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden, and others, have called on Brussels to draft a plan to end trade with Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank.

The push follows the ICJ’s 2024 opinion declaring the settlements illegal, and urging states to stop economic ties that sustain them.

“We need action, not silence,” the letter reads.

The EU is Israel’s largest trading partner.

Killing trade with settlements wouldn’t be a token gesture... it would hit the bottom line.

This comes days before a key EU summit reviewing whether Israel is still meeting the bloc’s human rights standards.
