This decline comes despite Stephen Miller’s stated goal of increasing deportations to 3,000 per day.
The number of people currently in ICE custody is 56,945, a decrease from the 57,861 detainees reported four weeks earlier.
The drop in arrests and detentions coincides with mass protests against ICE and Trump’s vow to grant deportation relief to illegal workers.
