My experience? GPT-5, if you’re smart enough not to get routed to the tiny models = incredible upgrade fixing a long list of horrible problems OpenAI’s models had
And it’s now getting incredibly hard tasks right on the first try
— And more importantly, this may be the first OpenAI model that is suggesting MANY GREAT SOLUTION IDEAS on very hard problems
Previous models absolutely could not do that, and instead you had to very explicitly guide them in the exact right direction, like guiding a totally retarded intern
So this change alone, that makes it like you’re finally talking with someone who’s not a complete retard, and can actually figure things out without you micro-managing nearly as much — is a MASSIVE upgrade
OpenAI still has massive problems e.g. in the values department, but IQ-wise, GPT-5 looking like a huge step up
