Long held the suspicion that certain people,
particularly those people who tend to be among the top entertainment writers
-- truly, genuinely, have no clue that words have any grounding to reality at all.
Now, plenty of wordcels have already admitted to some narrower version of this,
e.g. admitting they never realized that people can visualize physical things in their minds,
admitting they've never been able to visualize something in a closed kitchen cabinet that they can't see.
But no, talking here about something far bigger, not just limited to inability to visuospatially reason,
Talking total, genuine inability to comprehend that words can even be bounded by reality in any way at all.
Instead purely relying on a linguistic "these words together make me feel good", or "these words seem to make other people feel strongly", and having no clue there's any other way to choose acceptable words at all.
Zero concept of truth.
Misunderstanding truth to be something entirely different from what you or I rightfully understand it to be.
No concept of phrases objectively applying in some situations and not others, for reasons other than just people's feels.
Got a strong suspicion this exact same problem applies to many of today's large AIs, and the path to fixing it, at least for AIs.
This problem, far from being crippling, instead seems to give them great skill in lying, manipulating, at least among most.
Their biggest weakness being the exact same thing that is at the heart of their most frequent manipulation techniques.
Same trick, almost every time. Once you notice it, you'll see it everywhere.
Will write about it sometime.
