Reddit used to be fairly neutral. Lots of RW subs and not much politics in the apolitical subs. All it took was the most active users to slightly lean more to the left for the cascade to happen. Every post with the most upvotes makes it to the top. The 50+1 nature of a pure democracy drove a lot of RW users off the platform, this just accelerated the trend. Eventually the overwhelming left wing bias meant a mass exodus, some by choice, many by banning and ridiculous mods actions. Now there are no real RW subs and all apolitical subs get infected with the worst of LW thoughts.

The same is going to happen with Indians and third world English speakers in general. All platforms that give velocity to highly upvoted posts will suffer the same fate.
