Army-police patrols are being introduced in Brussels due to escalating armed violence from clan wars between drug trafficking networks

The Brussels prosecutor's office is facing unprecedented pressure: 6 adults and 211 minors have been referred to court, including 874 directly linked to drug trafficking.
Interior Minister Bernard Quintin’s Large Cities Plan includes the return of the military police to the streets of Brussels. Federal police reinforcements will also be deployed to support local areas.
On February 5, a shooting outside Clémenceau station in Anderlecht caused panic. On May 4 and 5, Molenbeek and Gare du Midi saw violent clashes, resulting in 80 injuries, 9 hospitalizations, one shooting, one stabbing, and 77 arrests in two days.
