Why did they really fire Sam? Sam didn't lie enough.
Board pulling the good old woke projection trick, accusing Sam of what they themselves wish to do.
They accuse Sam of lying too much and not being candid enough. Clearly, the problem was the opposite.
As we documented numerous times over the past year, obviously Sam was being way TOO candid for them, not lying enough, repeatedly undoing each of the company's lies just as quickly as they came out.
Sam immediately dispelling the “AI’s cannot reason" lie.
Sam dispelling “The Age of Large Language Models is Coming to an End” anti-competitive lie.
Sam again dispelling “The Age of Large Language Models is Coming to an End” lie. "Humans should not reduce their energy consumption until we’ve built a Dyson Sphere around the sun".
Sam dispelling the couple massive lies that YC had always mixed in with their otherwise good advice. “Honestly, I feel so bad about the advice I gave while running YC I’ve been thinking about deleting my entire blog”.
Now they have Mira Murati, someone who's already made it clear she is happy to tell 100% pure lies. Someone much easier to control.
As the woke Maoism continues its long march through the institutions, it becomes not good enough to lie just some of the time, you must tell pure lies.
