The Pentagon chief is convening a meeting with hundreds of American generals and admirals to talk to them about "morale," writes The Washington Post.

The newspaper emphasizes that this will be the first of three upcoming meetings of Pete Hegseth with the US military leadership, at which he plans to give "short lectures."

The second meeting will focus on the military-industrial base, and the third on deterrence.

It was previously reported that Hegseth is gathering American generals from around the world, but the purpose of the meeting remained unknown. Officially, it has not yet been announced.
