Cisco To Fire "Thousands", Adding To Firehose Of Tech Layoffs Since Beginning Of 2024

The tech industry has been so delirious about the vast wealth that pervasive chatbots will supposedly unleash, it forgot about the massive layoffs on the road to AI nirvana. Luckily, every day there is a new tech giant to remind us of just how much fewer jobs will be needed in said future, and how laughable the Biden Labor Department's "strong jobs data" is... and today it was network giant Cisco's turn.

According to Reuters, Cisco will lay off "thousands of employees", as part of a business restructuring which seeks to "focus on high-growth areas".... such as AI/chatGPT of course. The San Jose-based company, which has a total employee count of 84,900 according to its website - is still deciding on the total number of employees to be affected by the layoffs, but it will certainly be substantial. The official announcement will likely come next week, when the company holes its earnings call on Feb. 14.

The current White House doctor for President Joe Biden is “basically part of the Biden family” and is “not to be trusted,” Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) — a former White House doctor for past presidents — said during an appearance on Breitbart News Daily.

Jackson, who worked as a physician in the White House for former Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump, spoke about the language used in Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report — which highlighted Biden’s deteriorating mental fitness — describing it as very telling, as it served as validation from another source that Biden, 81, is mentally unwell.

One of the arguments made by John Heilemann and others was that the special counsel could have written the report without referring to Biden as an “elderly man with poor memory.”

Meta has removed Instagram and Facebook accounts run on behalf of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei after criticism over his support for Hamas after its Oct. 7 attack on Israel that sparked the monthslong war still raging in the Gaza Strip, the company confirmed Friday.

Meta, based in Menlo Park, California, offered no specifics about its reasoning. However, it said it removed the accounts “for repeatedly violating our Dangerous Organizations and Individuals policy.”
