NEW🔥: Former Attorney General Bill Barr told House investigators on Monday that he never saw anything that could tie President Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein's sordid crimes, Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said.

The ex-Trump administration official is the first person to appear in the House Oversight Committee's probe into the federal government's handling of Epstein's case.

Comer said Barr told investigators that he "didn't know anything about a client list," and did not have conversations with Trump about such a list.

Democrats who were in the room for the first two hours of Barr's deposition were much more vague about what went on, but they accused Republicans of taking too soft an approach.

"I have more questions now than I did before going in," Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, D-Va., told reporters before Comer's remarks. "Just generally, though, I think the Democratic side is doing most of the heavy lifting. I don't think we're learning much from the questioning from the House Republicans."

Comer said when asked about those comments, "I think it's unfortunate that the Democrats are trying to, seems to me, politicize this."

BREAKING: Jasveen Sangha, known as "the Ketamine Queen," will plead guilty in the death of Hollywood star Matthew Perry.

Sangha agreed to plead guilty to one count of maintaining a drug-involved premises, three counts of distribution of ketamine and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury.

The ketamine Sangha distributed resulted in Perry's overdose in 2023, according to the United States Department of Justice.

JUST IN: Joining forces from three other Republican-led states, the Mississippi National Guard will deploy 200 troops to Washington as part of the Trump administration’s ongoing federal policing and immigration overhaul in the nation’s capital.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves said in a statement Monday that he has approved the deployment of approximately 200 Mississippi National Guard Soldiers to Washington, D.C.

“Crime is out of control there, and it’s clear something must be done to combat it,” Reeves said.

Mississippi joins three other states that have pledged to deploy hundreds of National Guard members to the nation’s capital to bolster the Republican administration’s operation aiming to transform policing in the Democratic-led city through a federal crackdown on crime and homelessness.

West Virginia said it was deploying 300 to 400 troops, South Carolina pledged 200 and Ohio said it will send 150 in the coming days, deployments that built on top of President Donald Trump’s initial order that 800 National Guard troops deploy as part of the federal intervention.

Ukraine will promise to buy $100bn of American weapons financed by Europe in a bid to obtain US guarantees for its security after a peace settlement with Russia, according to a document seen by the Financial Times.

Under the proposals, Kyiv and Washington would also strike a $50bn deal to produce drones with Ukrainian companies that have pioneered the technology since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.

Kyiv shared the proposals for new security deals with the US, which have not been previously reported, in a list of talking points with European allies ahead of a meeting with US President Donald Trump in the White House on Monday, according to four people familiar with the matter.

The document does not state which weapons Ukraine is asking to procure as part of a deal but Kyiv has been clear about its desire to buy at least 10 US-made Patriot air defence systems to protect its cities and critical infrastructure, along with other missiles and equipment. The document does not specify how much of the drone deal would be procurement or investment.

The mere existence of "sanctuary cities" is one of the most incomprehensible aspects of the present political moment.

We have clear-cut, completely constitutional laws regulating immigration, and it's considered completely normal for dozens of our largest cities and states to not just ignore but actively flout these laws, up to and including criminalizing behavior that gives assistance to the federal agents enforcing our laws.

It's a direct choice to choose a more dangerous, more disordered, less pleasant country. It's also a calculated, systematic effort to undermine America being an actual country with a border.

It shouldn't be allowed. Every public sector official who upholds sanctuary laws is aiding in a conspiracy to violate the laws of the United States and should be charged accordingly.
