Swiss Song of the Day 🇨🇭🔫: For more than 2 decades Reggae artist Phenomden sings in Swiss "Patois" and spreads sunny vibes. But don't be fooled by the melodies, the singer also creates conscious content like in this track about banksters after the financial crisis: https://open.spotify.com/track/0S6xtlgIwbIFJGURoQV5jz

Kosovo in Switzerland, Switzerland in Kosovo
Exactly one year ago, the Swiss government joined the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and others in recognising Kosovo’s independence from Serbia.
For Kosovars in Switzerland, February 27 was a day to celebrate, but not so much for the Swiss-based Serbs.
Around 250,000 people of Kosovo origin live in Switzerland. The connection between these two countries goes way beyond politics and money – it holds deep historical and human ties.

Why is this considered a ‘a hopeful moment’ for some?
What is “racial profiling”? Racial profiling is when police conduct targeted checks on people solely because of their skin colour.
With the European Court of Human Rights condemnation, it is the first time that the court has categorised a specific police check as discriminatory.
The case before the court dealt with an incident which occurred nine years ago. A Swiss librarian with roots in Kenya was stopped by the police at the Zurich train station. He refused to show his ID because the two police officers singled him out in a crowd without reason for doing so. The librarian was penalised for this. Feeling discriminated against, the librarian fought back as far as the European Court, and has now won.
