Happy Friday, everyone! Let’s end this week with a burst of energy. And what better way to kick off the weekend than with a steaming cup of coffee? ☕
If you are a coffee enthusiast and happen to be from Switzerland, you’re in for a delightful experience (metaphorically speaking). Switzerland is a world leader when it comes to coffee machines and – wherever you are in the world – chances are your favourite brew was probably made by a Swiss appliance.

Good Idea: Break down your tasks
https://jacobian.org/2024/mar/11/breaking-down-tasks/
1.Begin with a list of tasks or an idea.
2.Think through the steps needed to accomplish each task.
3.Ensure each task is sufficiently defined by answering:
-Do I understand the desired change?
-Do I know what "done" looks like?
-Can I define all the steps to reach "done"?
-Do I have all the necessary information to start the task?
4. If any answers are "no," further break down the task and repeat the process.
5. Practice this skill to improve proficiency over time.

Breaking Down Tasks - Jacob Kaplan-Moss
Something missing from this series on estimation, until now, has been a discussion of how to “break down” a project into a well-defined task list. I’d not previously written about this because, to me, it’s largely intuitive. But it isn’t for everyone, so…

Good Idea: Create more and consume less!
https://www.omaritani.com/blog/create-more-consume-less
Scientific research suggests that engaging in creative activities can significantly reduce stress levels and contribute to overall well-being. Conversely, excessive consumption can lead to feelings of emptiness, loss of control, and a lack of productivity. The purpose of life is not merely to consume but to create and contribute positively to society. Engaging in creative activities can serve as a therapeutic tool, helping individuals explore self-expression and gain personal insight. To incorporate creativity into daily life, individuals can follow a three-step strategy emphasizing the importance of enjoying the process and being compassionate with oneself. Ultimately, prioritizing creation over consumption can lead to more fulfilling and meaningful lives.
The three-step strategy outlined in the text is as follows:
1. Choose something you enjoy: Select an activity that brings you intrinsic satisfaction and engages you fully.
2. Block time for it: Set aside dedicated time for creative pursuits, protect this time from distractions, and commit to a regular practice.
3. Leave your judgment at the door: Suspend self-criticism, embrace self-compassion, and recognize that growth takes time and effort.

Create More Than You Consume if You Want to Worry Less and Feel More Fulfilled — OMAR ITANI
The problem with too much consumption is that it can leave us feeling utterly empty inside. Ironically, it creates something: One big void. A small dose of creativity is good for us. It can help us become more present, less anxious, and much more fulfilled.…
