2. There is Afrika Bambaataa. A figure, who founded the Zulu Nation and thereby helped spread the culture around the globe. Kraftwerk fans will probably like this:

Again in 1983 there were many releases that are defining in the evolution of Rap music. From the songs I picked to represent this year, we start with a release from the musicians who had the deepest impact on Hip Hop/Pop culture. The remix was a Nr.1-Hit in 1997. Wether this is really true or just a PR stunt to market the culture with books and movies (Wild Style, see below) and how many elements there really are, is a matter of opinion.
