The Hebrew Yediot Ahronoth:
As part of the decision by Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir to increase the ground forces of the Israeli army, drawing lessons from the October 7 war, the Israeli army is rushing to reconstitute the "500th Armored Brigade", which was disbanded in 2003 as a regular tank brigade.
The brigade will be established as a reserve unit, apparently under the command of the 162nd "Ha Plada" Regular Division of the Southern Command, which it historically served under in the 1970s during the October War.

The Hebrew Yedioth Ahronoth:
The "500th Brigade" will receive Merkava Mk-4 tanks that will be withdrawn from regular brigades, such as the 401st "Iron Tracks" Brigade, while the regular brigades will be replenished with new Merkava 4 tanks, including the Merkava Mk-4M "Barak" / "Windbreaker" tanks, which are the most advanced version of the Israeli tank.
The 401st "Iron Tracks" regular armoured brigade already has two companies equipped with Merkava Mk-4M "Barak" tanks that also participated in the heavy fighting in the Gaza Strip.
And because the pace of production of the Israeli Merkava tank is relatively slow; only a few tanks per month - it is expected that fighters in the "500th Brigade" will be available before all the tanks allocated to them arrive.

The Hebrew Yedioth Ahronoth :
The Israeli army canceled the decision made before the "Swords of Iron" operation to sell old Israeli tanks to countries in the Balkans or South America, or to scrap them for the purpose of smelting iron.
During an urgent and rapid operation, old Merkava Mk-3 and Mk-2 tanks were put back into service. Thirty of them were used in a new reserve armored unit established under the name "The Phoenix Bird", which consisted of volunteer fighters who were older and had retired from reserve service, then returned to participate in the fighting.

The Hebrew Yedioth Ahronoth:
The Israeli army admitted in one of its petitions to the Supreme Court that a high percentage of armoured vehicles and tanks were damaged in battles and did not return to service.
To date, dozens of tanks are still undergoing maintenance and repair in workshops, with rehabilitation periods ranging from three to six months, and some undergoing maintenance for about a year. The arms embargo imposed on Israel during the war also had an impact on this situation, as some tank parts are manufactured in Europe. Although most of these embargoes have been lifted.

The Iranians are conducting missile launch drills and trying to deter the United States and Israel, but it would be better for Trump and Netanyahu to wait and seek to reach an agreement that eliminates this threat.
Any attack against Iran, even if it is decisive and effective, could unite the Iranian people.
