🐀 NeRemo: The Nimble Robotic Mouse
A team of roboticists from the Technical University of Munich and Sun Yat-sen University has enhanced the agility of a quadruped robot, NeRemo →, by integrating a flexible spine and tail.
The neurorobotic mouse, designed to mimic the morphology and locomotion of biological mice, demonstrated improved static stability, walking speed, and turning behavior with the flexible spine.

The open-source system, Dobb-E, was trained using data collected from real homes, allowing robots to learn tasks in just 20 minutes.
By using a simple setup involving an iPhone attached to a reacher-grabber stick, researchers were able to train the AI model to instruct robots on how to carry out various household tasks.
After testing in 10 homes, the robot → successfully completed 109 tasks with an overall success rate of 81%. The innovative method could potentially address the challenge of a lack of training data.
