From the beginning of spring, owners of Telegram channels will be able to monetize their projects and receive financial rewards for displaying ads, Paul du Rove announced →

In March, the Telegram Ad Platform will officially open to all advertisers in nearly a hundred new countries. Channel owners in these countries will start receiving 50% of any revenue that Telegram makes from displaying ads in their channels.

Currently, Telegram channels bring in about 1 trillion views each month.

Payments will be made in the TON cryptocurrency to ensure fast and secure transactions. Channel owners will be able to withdraw their Toncoins in cash or invest them in promoting and upgrading their channels.

Meanwhile, TON's rate jumped sharply amid the announcement. In a moment, the price has risen by more than 30% and almost reached the level of $2.95.

Following the announcement of the Telegram Ad Platform launch, Paul du Rove stated → that users have expressed concern that Telegram may hold an unhealthy share of Toncoin due to the reliance on TON to sell ads.

To limit Telegram’s share of TON at ≈10% of the supply, we’ll be selling the upcoming surplus of our TON holdings to long-term investors — under 1-4 years lockup and vesting plan, but at a discount to the market price. This way free-floating TON will get locked up, stabilizing the ecosystem and reducing volatility.
