T-Mobile will pay $350 million to people affected by the data breach as part of the settlement of a class action lawsuit arising from the 2021 hack that exposed the data of 76.6 million US residents. Another $150 million will go towards developing new solutions to improve data security during 2022 and 2023.

The total fine of $350 million will be divided among all those affected, depending on the extent of the damage caused by the data leak. Amounts could be approved as early as December.
