Pavel Durov announced the launch of a special Fragment platform that allows to buy Telegram usernames. He added that in a few days, all users will be able to sell their existing usernames on the platform:
“This is just the beginning, and yet an important milestone – the power has started to shift into users' hands,” Durov emphasized.
At the same time, the TON Foundation stated that usernames can be linked to personal accounts and Telegram channels. In addition, the auction platform itself is based on TON DNS.
For this reason, all names are placed on the TON blockchain and “no one will ever be able to challenge the ownership rights of their owners."
Interestingly, among the usernames found on the platform, one can find the names of some of the biggest UAE companies, such as @emaar(minimum bid - 1575 TON, $2430) and @damac (minimum bid - 1654 TON, $2550)

According to Durov, the messenger received a notice from Apple that the company was unhappy that channel owners were not paying 30% of the commission on paid publications, which had recently appeared.
Durov said there was no choice but to disable this functionality on iOS. After all, it is impossible to do anything differently in a closed system.
“I hope that the regulators in the EU, India and elsewhere start taking action before Apple destroys more dreams and crushes more entrepreneurs with a tax that is higher than any government-levied VAT,” said Durov.
