Pavel Durov has once again accused Apple of abusing its monopoly position. Due to the its policy, Telegram had to disable paid publishing on iOS.
According to Durov, the messenger received a notice from Apple that the company was unhappy that channel owners were not paying 30% of the commission on paid publications, which had recently appeared.
Durov said there was no choice but to disable this functionality on iOS. After all, it is impossible to do anything differently in a closed system.
“I hope that the regulators in the EU, India and elsewhere start taking action before Apple destroys more dreams and crushes more entrepreneurs with a tax that is higher than any government-levied VAT,” said Durov.
