9 Psychology Hacks to Overcome Depression
1. Identify Your Triggers: Zero in on what's dragging you down. Diagnose the root causes to guide your next steps. What changed the game for me was adopting different viewpoints by considering other people's perspectives.
2. Stay Occupied: An idle mind is a breeding ground for negative thoughts. Engage in challenging tasks to keep your mind active. What I found helpful was shaking up my daily routine.
3. Exercise & Sleep: A healthy body cultivates a healthy mind. Prioritize quality sleep to build mental strength. I noticed substantial improvements after establishing a solid exercise regimen.
4. Find Happy Distractions: Identify what genuinely brings you joy—be it pets, music, or reading. I found solace by immersing myself in these activities and noted a marked mood uplift over time.
5. Big-Picture Perspective: Think about past worries that now seem inconsequential. Assess how your current troubles will hold up in the long term. For me, recognizing the fleeting nature of my concerns was a game-changer.
6. Lean on Your Support System: Seek out real-life connections. I benefited greatly from confiding in trusted friends and family members, who often offered invaluable guidance.
7. Connect with Nature: Don't underestimate the therapeutic power of nature and music. Taking time to disconnect and immerate in natural surroundings made a world of difference for me.
8. Smart Shopping: Treat yourself, but avoid shopping as a coping mechanism that can lead to debt. For me, planned indulgences were key to maintaining a balanced outlook.
9. Inject Positivity: Incorporate gratitude and acts of kindness into your daily routine. I found that volunteering not only helped others but also boosted my own morale. And never underestimate the ripple effect of a simple smile.

Happy New Year to all you amazing elevated minds out there! I am wishing you a year ahead filled with breakthroughs, and yes, a bit of discomfort too 😁
Now you might be wondering, "Why discomfort?" Let me explain.
We often misunderstand the concept of 'comfort' with 'peace, when in reality it's a breeding ground for stagnation.
The familiarity that comes with the comfort zone is NOT comforting. It's a trap holding you back, keeping you stuck in fear, in familiarity with <the avoidance of> pain and disappointment.
If you want to grow in life, it will be uncomfortable. This means you have to step outside the confines of what you know (and what you think you know). We have to confort our limiting beliefs that is caging our potential.
So how do we initiate this change? Start by tuning into your thoughts and beliefs. Where do you feel tension and discomfort? Examine this critically and explore how you can adopt new empowering ways of thinking and acting. When you realize your beliefs may not be true, this is the key to unlocking what I call "The Breakthrough".
Breakthroughs are a paradigm shift - you change the way you think, act, and interact with the world. You will see and understand things differently, and when you understand things differently, you start to act different too. Your life becomes fuelled by possibility instead of predictability.
And it can all happen in a short period of time.
Finally, I want to extent my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support. I sense that 2024 is going to be an exciting year for us in our personal growth and journeys 🚀 Take care and keep pushing forward ❤️
PS A quick update from my end: I've been a bit quiet here as I've been conjured back to the world of crypto, where I've been a full time investor/trader. It's been a rewarding journey, pushing my own boundaries, making me self examine and it's also changed my life.
Whatever your 'crypto' is, pursue it. Step out of our comfort zone. It might be life changing.

ON THE GREAT WORK OF SELF DISCOVERY:
"Much of magic as I understand it in the Western occult tradition is the search for the Self, with a capital S. This is understood as being the Great Work, as being the gold the alchemists sought, as being the Will, the Soul, the thing we have inside us that is behind the intellect, the body, the dreams. The inner dynamo of us, if you like. Now this is the single most important thing that we can ever attain, the knowledge of our own Self. And yet there are a frightening amount of people who seem to have the urge not just to ignore the Self, but actually seem to have the urge to obliterate themselves. This is horrific, but you can almost understand the desire to simply wipe out that awareness, because it’s too much of a responsibility to actually posses such a thing as a soul, such a precious thing. What if you break it? What if you lose it? Mightn’t it be best to anesthetize it, to deaden it, to destroy it, to not have to live with the pain of struggling towards it and trying to keep it pure? I think that the way that people immerse themselves in alcohol, in drugs, in television, in any of the addictions that our culture throws up, can be seen as a deliberate attempt to destroy any connection between themselves and the responsibility of accepting and owning a higher Self and then having to maintain it." ~ Alan Moore

Alan Moore, in a passage dense with symbolism and insight, delves into the Western occult view of "magic" as the quest for the ultimate Self. He paints a vivid picture:
1. The Self as the Inner Dynamo: Imagine a vast, hidden engine within you – the Self, your Will, your Soul, the essence beyond your intellect, body, and dreams. This "inner dynamo" fuels your existence, yet remains largely unexplored.
2. The Great Work: Discovering and realizing this Self is the "Great Work," the elusive gold sought by alchemists, the ultimate fulfillment. It's a daunting task, demanding responsibility and awareness.
3. The Paradox of Self-Destruction: Yet, paradoxically, many seem to actively resist this quest. They seek to "obliterate" their Selves through addiction and distractions. Why?
4. The Fear of Responsibility: Moore proposes a chilling reason – the fear of responsibility. Owning a precious, fragile Self feels daunting. What if it breaks? What if it's lost? The pain of striving for its purity seems unbearable, leading some to numb and destroy it altogether.
5. Escapes and Addictions: Alcohol, drugs, television – these cultural crutches, Moore suggests, become tools of self-annihilation. They offer a temporary escape from the burden of Self-awareness, a desperate attempt to avoid the responsibility of facing and nurturing your inner essence.
Moore's words are a stark reminder: the journey to Self-discovery is challenging, but ultimately liberating. Avoiding it through distractions might offer fleeting solace, but it comes at the cost of abandoning your most profound potential. Embrace the responsibility, face the challenges, and watch the inner dynamo of your Self illuminate your life with a brilliance no addiction can ever match.
Remember, the Self isn't a fragile burden, but a source of immense power and purpose.
Choose to awaken it, not numb it. Embrace the Great Work, and discover the magic that lies within you.

"Your heart is the size of an ocean. Go find yourself in its hidden depths." ~ Jalaluddin Rumi
Rumi invites us to see our heart as an expansive ocean, a realm of self where our true self resides.
This journey to the heart's depths isn't about striving for perfection, but about authentic self-exploration.
To delve into this inner sea, still the chaos atop its waves with mindfulness and reflection, allowing yourself to sink into the deeper waters of emotion and memory. Welcome these experiences as guides, mapping out the contours of your spirit.
The voyage inward is not without challenge, yet it promises the reward of uncovering your untapped potential, inherent beauty, and profound capacity for love.
Take the leap, explore your heart's ocean, and in its hidden depths, you may find infinite possibilities awaiting.

Thought Experiment:
If you look at a rock and a piece of gold, gold is not “worth” anymore than the rock is. If you look at a check for a million dollars that is just a piece of paper. It’s not even a piece of paper, it’s a piece of a tree. The tree is not even a tree, it’s a global network. We give meaning to these things through the conditioning of society.
Just as a child asks “what is that thing flying in the sky” and you say “it’s an eagle.” It is not an eagle, we named it that through the vibration of language. You hear the vibrations of a sound. You see the vibrations of light. You smell the vibrations of particles. You taste the vibrations of atoms. You touch the vibrations of energy.
But the vibrations are finally changing on this planet. As people begin to wake up there will be a new Earth. The suffering of this world will ease sooner rather than later.
We all just have to love each other until then, awake or asleep. For those who are asleep would not be doing the things they are if they were indeed awake.

Cause = Effect
Therapy is only complete when cause=effect in space & time means that therapy is only complete when you can see how you are the cause of your own effect.
For example if someone criticises you and it hurts, it initially appears like they are the cause (their criticism) of your effect (your pain/trauma).
Apparently cause ≠ effect in space & time.
'They did it to me' - that's a seperation of cause and effect.
The illusion is that they did it to me at (specific place) in space and at this (specific time) last week.
Criticism only hurts because you are judging yourself for that same thing.
If someone criticised you for something you are not judging yourself for it doesn't hurt. 🤷🏽♀️
So if you find the benefits of the thing you are judging yourself for and dissolve the judgement, the next time they criticize you it won't have any effect.
By doing this you realise that your own judgement of yourself (cause) was the reason for your pain (effect) and that they where just a mirror helping to point that out to you.🪞
When you get to that point, the charge is dissolved and you realise that you where the cause of your own effect & now the cause (you) = effect (also you) .
The moment (time & space) of pain (effect) was the moment (time & space) that you started judging yourself(cause).
So now cause (you) = effect (you) in space and time.

The only thing that you truly can control is where you place your attention and where you place your effort.
❤27🔥12
Most conflict isn’t caused by what people do, it’s caused by how we react to what they do.
We waste so much energy trying to control the world, situations, or even other people.
But real peace comes from mastering yourself.
You can’t control if someone is rude, but you can control how much space you let that take up in your head.
You can’t always stop chaos, but you can choose not to let it enter your nervous system.
You won’t always get closure. You won’t always get the apology. You won’t always be understood.
And that’s okay.
Because when you build the muscle of self-regulation, the external noise stops hijacking your internal peace.
It doesn’t mean becoming passive. It means becoming powerful enough not to react to everything.
That’s real strength not controlling others, but staying centered in yourself.
And yeah… this is technically advice. But it’s the kind I wish someone had told me years ago.
