Вообще, названия дней недели имеют занимательную и долгую историю. Изначально римляне использовали восьмидневный календарь, а семидневную неделю позаимствовали у евреев вместе с христианством и распространили на всю империю в IV веке новой эры. Император Константин официально ввёл семидневную неделю с 321 года, сделав воскресенье первым днем недели и законным выходным.
Дни недели римляне назвали в честь планет Солнечной системы (которые в свою очередь были названы в честь богов греческого и римского пантеона). Эту идею римляне позаимствовали у вавилонян, которые позаимствовали ее у шумеров.
И хотя названия дней недели в германских и романских языках выглядят непохоже, между ними есть связь (смотрите карточки). Германские народы адаптировали римскую систему под своих богов между 200 и 600 годами нашей эры. Осталась нетронутой лишь суббота, которая в разных германских языках связана или с еврейским Шаббатом, или со стиркой. Из германских языков систему переняли финские.
В некоторых индоевропейских языках (славянских, португальском, венгерском, эстонском, монгольском, современном китайском) связь с планетами или богами не прослеживается: дни просто нумеруются по порядку.

Has failure always been something to be ashamed of? How have people understood failure throughout history? What are the different views on it and how can we apply them to our lives? Watch the video to find out!

Когда-то я завела этот телеграм-канал, и моя жизнь заметно изменилась к лучшему. За два с половиной года я познакомилась со многими очень классными людьми, и с некоторыми даже увиделась вживую — вот, на прошлой неделе приехала прекрасная Мария, а весной приезжал Рома, причем из далекой Шотландии. С Марией мы пробовали небезызвестный тыквенный латте, а с Ромой катались на смешной машинке.
Но больше, конечно, общения онлайн: сейчас почти все мои индивидуальные ученики, участники групп и разговорного клуба — подписчики канала. Да и просто в комментариях и в личных сообщениях бывает полезно и весело пообщаться.
Тем временем, количество постов на канале перевалило за 2000. Надеюсь, они вам интересны и тоже немного меняют вашу жизнь к лучшему 🙃
