Philosophy, in its true sense, is premised on the idea that the most valuable sacrifice you are capable of making is of yourself.
This is essentially the meaning of Socrates’ statement in the Phaedo that philosophy is preparation for death. Socrates is not advocating suicide (he explicitly rejects suicide as impious) nor is he suggesting that life is bad. But you must sacrifice the lower elements of yourself: your addiction to pleasure and comfort, your fears and anxieties.
To make yourself sacred means to become like the Gods, and that can only be accomplished by sacrificing the ungodly in yourself.

Imagine not collecting more books than you can possibly read. Especially from indie publishers.
Books, vinyls, art prints, knickknacks or whatever made by your community is a form of modern material culture. They're organic expressions of identity. It's our version of urns and rune amulets.
It's folk art and it supports folk economy. Years down the road your great grandkids might pick it up and be blown away by it.
These physical tangible items give permanence to sentiments, feelings and ideas of their creators in the time that they lived.
By collecting all those books you are a steward of bottled messages that will sail through ages and lifetimes delivering truths to those who've yet been born.
So give what you hold dear the immortality it deserves and collect it.

People without a natural identity will find an artificial one. Instead of identifying with a natural classification such as family, community, nation, or race, one will identify with a corporate brand, a materialistic political viewpoint, or a commercialized facet of culture. This very dangerous progression has these artificial identities provide the most assured way to strip the nation of liberty. Tyranny seeks to extend from the body, to the mind, and ultimately the spirit. To destroy the nature of man governed by the family, community, and nation, and give it to the boss, the politician, and the celebrity.
The purpose of the current perversion of our nature is to cement the habit of consumption and affirm a biddable trait among the masses. This effort is sustainable only in absolute completion, where it will enslave the entirety of the human population.
Instead, what must be constructed is a society which complements these natural instincts with virtuous acts pushing men to greatness. The needs for physical well being will be met as a result of our people seeing themselves as a common collective and providing assistance to one another. The needs for community and belonging will come as a result of the restitution of our familial structure and the reclamation of our role in the story of the nation. The needs for an understanding of our world will come from this new national spirit, from this revolutionary synthesis of man and nature, and from this unification of society and instinct.

"'The desert encroaches. Woe to him whose desert is within!' He can in truth find no further support from without. There no longer exist the organizations and institutions that, in a traditional civilization and society, would have allowed him to realize himself wholly, to order his own existence in a clear and unambiguous way, and to defend and apply creatively in his own environment the principal values that he recognizes within himself."

As long as a person will not raise his or her consciousness beyond the physical world to higher, spiritual realities, the soul's enslavement in darkness - whether darkness is in the outer, physical world or in the world of the mind - continues. It is as though the body and the mind were bars of a cage in which the soul (or spirit) is trapped. When the captive entity exits the cage and flies aloft, it rises to spiritual realms where ultimate meaning and happiness abide. Soaring through these regions, it finally reaches its primordial home, the Divine.
