This initiative will take place across five universities nationwide, with Jimma University being one of the selected institutions. As an Active Partner of YAMG the Jimma University Students' Union is Responsible for Facilitating this initiative at our University.

🎬 Introducing the "Hate Speech and Misinformation Short Film Competition" 🎬

We invite all students to participate in this engaging competition aimed at addressing critical issues in our society. Here’s what you need to know:

🔹 Participant Selection: A total of 50 students will be selected to represent Jimma University in this initiative.

🔹 Training Opportunity: Selected participants will undergo a comprehensive 2-day training focused on hate speech and misinformation. This training will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to create impactful short films.

🔹 Film Production: After completing the training, participants will produce a short film based on the insights gained.

🔹 Local Screening: Once the films are submitted, there will be a local screening at Jimma University. From this screening, the top five films will be chosen to compete at the national level in Addis Ababa.

🏆 National Competition Awards:

💥1st Place: 150,000 ETB

💥2nd Place: 100,000 ETB

💥3rd Place: 50,000 ETB

💥4th to 10th Place: 15,000 ETB each
