Chinese scientists have developed a groundbreaking method to restore worn-out lithium-ion batteries using an AI-designed electrolyte solution. The AI model analyzed electrochemistry data to identify cost-effective molecules that dissolve well in electrolytes, selecting lithium salt LiSO₂CF₃ as the best candidate.

How It Works
- Similar to an IV injection for humans, the lithium salt rejuvenates depleted batteries.
- A typical EV battery lasts 2,000 charge cycles before dropping below 80% capacity.
- After adding the lithium salt, the battery performed almost like new even after 12,000 cycles, it retained 96% capacity!

- EVs now make up 20% of the global car market, with batteries accounting for 40% of a car’s cost.

🎲 Almost One in Four Children Already Uses AI

In the UK, 22% of children reported using AI, according to researchers at the Alan Turing Institute and the Lego Foundation. They recently surveyed more than 800 schoolchildren aged 8-12 and over 1,000 teachers. The most popular generative AI tools among kids are ChatGPT, Gemini, and My AI from Snapchat.

🧩 Children in private schools, as well as students with additional learning needs, use ChatGPT significantly more often. The students with learning difficulties say AI primarily helps them formulate their thoughts.
