A bonus of $175 on my very first job on Upwork.

For a long time, I thought about starting Upwork — but I didn’t.

I focused only on local projects, telling myself I’d try freelancing platforms “later.”
Recently, I finally decided to take the step.

That decision — and this result — didn’t happen alone.

I was guided and encouraged by some incredible people:
Nebeyou Musie — an amazing and humble person I met on LinkedIn, and one of the biggest reasons behind this success. Sebaif, my friend. Dani, my classmate and friend. Abdulfetah Suudi, my closest friend, strongest supporter, and someone who always believed in me.

The agreed amount for the project was $125.
The client paid $300 — a $175 bonus, without me asking.

That really hit me :
👉 Good work speaks
👉 Sincerity never goes unnoticed

I’m deeply grateful,
This is just the beginning 🚀

And because I received so much support, I want to give back.
I’ve created a Telegram community where I share:
* Upwork tips & tricks
* Important resources
* Practical insights to help others win on Upwork

Let's grow together :
"from humble beginnings to a life of meaning !"

Welcome to EthioUpwork 🤍

I’m really glad you’re here.

Let me be clear from the start:
I’m not someone who has “figured everything out” on Upwork yet.

I’m just starting this journey myself.
I haven’t reached a point where I can give you perfect formulas or guaranteed steps to success — and I won’t pretend that I have.

What I can do is this:
* Share the resources I’m using
* Share the tips & tricks I’m learning along the way
* Share the advice and support I receive from people who are ahead of me
* Share my wins, mistakes, and lessons in real time

I want to share two YouTube videos (Part 1 & Part 2) from the PouncerAI YouTube channel.

These videos explain how Upwork really works behind the scenes.

I personally got several key insights from these videos — insights that directly helped me land my very first job on Upwork.

🎥 I’ll attach both video links here:
Part 1
Part 2

👉 After watching, let me know how it went for you in the comment section:

What did you learn?
What surprised you?
Any new perspective you gained?

We’ll discuss, reflect, and grow together 🤝

Is Upwork still worth it in 2026? 🤔

This video from Ali Shakarchy Youtube Channel tells you everything you need to know.

With competition increasing every year, many freelancers are asking:
👉 Is it too late?
👉 Is Upwork overcrowded?
👉 Does it even work anymore?

Is Upwork still worth it in 2026? 🤔 This video from Ali Shakarchy Youtube Channel tells you everything you need to know. With competition increasing every year, many freelancers are asking: 👉 Is it too late? 👉 Is Upwork overcrowded? 👉 Does it even work anymore?
Here’s the truth - Insights I got from the video 👇

🔹 Competition went up — but so did the demand

Upwork payouts keep increasing year after year (billions of dollars).
More businesses, more agencies, more startups = more demand for freelancers.

🔹 Upwork only works if you’re willing to compete properly

Sending generic proposals and hoping for luck won’t work anymore.

Top freelancers are:
* Sending personalized cover letters
* Recording short Loom videos
* Applying early when a job is posted
* Checking client history, payment verification, and spend
* Treating Upwork like a real business, not a lottery

🔹 Personalization is the real unfair advantage

Once you start getting:
⭐️ 5-star reviews
⭐️ Job Success Score
⭐️ Earnings history

it snowballs. Getting clients becomes easier every month

🔹 People who say “Upwork doesn’t work” usually didn’t try long enough

Most quit after:
* 5–10 proposals
* Zero personalization
* Zero consistency

That’s not Upwork failing — that’s effort failing.

Final takeaway

Upwork in 2026 is absolutely worth it
IF you’re willing to:
* Show up daily
* Personalize your outreach
* Compete seriously
* Stay consistent for at least 5 weeks

If others are making money on the platform, there’s no reason you can’t !
