If I’m being real, the artist community can be kinda the same way too. Like, people act all “open-minded” and “creative,” but the second you don’t follow the exact groupthink, they turn on you. I once saw someone who had studied philosophy try to analyse Kirk’s arguments and straight up said his arguments are just super weak. He knows what his audience thinks and what they believe in, so for him, the weak stuff is the strong stuff, because a majority are so stupid they believe it and think that they’re super on point arguments with zero counter facts. Whereas this is generally just not true. You could see that in his debate with the Ivy League college students and professors in the UK, where he didn’t have good counter points because they kept on getting either proven wrong or the students countered his arguments with things he couldn’t disprove. And when he was proven wrong, he went to his little five year old corner and said “well I still don’t believe in it” because he had nothing else to say.
