Was talking to a friend in English class on how she wouldn’t really protests because she has yk friends and family and if there was a situation she wouldn’t understand the point of protests but did admit it was privileged of her to say that and I was like yeah😭😭 it 😭😭is 😭😭😭.

I told her about Iran and one of the reasons so many people protested was because they GENUINELY have nothing left to lose. The economy is shit, people can’t afford to feed themselves or their families and government officials are actively killing the youth either directly or indirectly with a fucked up justice system, religious oppression and zero freedom of opinion or rights. When a whole country lowk has nothing left to lose then OF COURSE they’re gonna protest😭 their lives being lost is inevitable and they know that because of so many others who’ve died before them

The only way to take back a country and take back control is protesting and standing up I fear
