I want to share an incident that happened today so others don’t repeat my mistake.
I took an offline motorbike ride from someone who appeared to be a bike-taxi driver. I paid him in cash at the end of the trip. Later, a pending UPI payment I had attempted before the cash payment unexpectedly went through, resulting in him being paid twice.
When I contacted him to return the extra amount, he refused.
I don’t want anyone else to get stuck in this kind of situation. If you’re taking an offline ride, avoid paying until your payment attempt clearly fails or succeeds. Pending transactions can settle hours later, and you have no protection if the ride wasn’t booked through an app.
I’m posting this to ask:
What’s the best way to handle this kind of dispute when the ride wasn’t booked through a platform? Is there any formal process to recover the amount?
I managed to get his the upi number
6290706585 (The other one he shared is switched off)
give him some dose in whatsapp
