Posterior alpha oscillations reflect attentional problems in boys with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Cognitive Testing to Identify Children With ADHD Who Do and Do Not Respond to Methylphenidate
هدف: برای بررسی اثر اندازه گیری های شناختی در پیش بینی پاسخ به متیل فنیدیت در کودکان و نوجوانان.
روش: شرکت کنندگان در پروژه iSPOT-A یک آزمون شناختی را پیش از دریافت 6 هفته متیل فنیدیت به انجام رساندند. معیار پاسخ دهی کاهش 25 درصدی در امتیازات مقیاس درجه بندی #ADHD IV است. مشخصه های عمگر دریافتی ROC با حداکثر دقت و حساسیت پاسخ دهندگان را از غیر پاسخ دهندگان تمیز داده است.
نتیجه: به صورت کلی 62% از شرکت کنندگان به متیل فنیدیت پاسخ دادند. نرخ پاسخ دهی برای گروه های تمیز داده شده ROC بین 18 تا 85 درصد بود. غیر پاسخ دهندگان ارتباط شناختی کمتری را در تغییر توجه، توجه مداوم، برنامه ریزی و تکانش گری نشان دادند. گروهی از پاسخ دهندگان بالاتر از ده سال بودند و در تغییر توجه و تکانش گری با مشکل مواجه بودند. گروه دوم دارای تغییر توجه بهبود یافته، امتیاز تست تواجه مداوم CPT معمولی یا بالاتر و امتیاز بالاتر از میانگین در آزمون فراخنای ارقام بودند.
نتیجه گیری: آزمون های شناختی می تواند یک راه ساده و کم هزینه را برای برنامه ریزی روند درمان کودکان و نوجوانان دارای بیش فعالی/نقص توجه فراهم نماید.

While we can question the evidence for the actual efficacy of most performance enhancers currently used, tDCS in particular stands out in calling for more data. Unlike Adderall or anabolic steroids, at the moment anyone can get their hands on a tDCS headset by legally ordering one online. And even if these headsets become more closely regulated, people can still cheaply make their own using common items found at electronics stores, stimulating any part of their brain, or their children’s. Given the current hype around it, it would be good to know more about how exactly it impacts the brain — and the long term consequences.
