‼️ Important information: Russian invasion in Ukraine and what you can do to help ‼️
❓ What is going on: There is a war in Ukraine. The Russian military has invaded Ukraine and is continuously attacking and taking over Ukrainian territories. Ukraine is not a safe place to be in right now, many people are already trying to leave the country while they can. There is a lot of fake news and disinformation around the situation, which is a part of Russian strategy to spread panic, please fact-check the things you see in the media about updates.
📣 What to do: FFF ARZ (activists in risk zones) together with other organisations is working on evacuating activists and their families from Ukraine + supporting them in relocation.
How you can help:
➡️ Donate: we were unable to create our own fundraising with ARZ, but decided to uplift the already existing crowdfunding for the NGO providing humanitarian aid on ground. You can donate through this link: http://bit.ly/UkraineDonate. Please share as widely as you can!
➡️ Share graphics: we have created these graphics to be able to spread general information about what is going on and how anyone can help. You can share these graphics directly on your own social media, here you can find a folder with all the graphics and text for the post: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19bWuJDJPTxj5HErqqeqwvwJkW_GjohsO?usp=sharing. All of them are translated to English, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Slovak, Lithuanian, Czech, Arabic, Croatian, French, Turkish, Swedish, Romanian and Italian. Feel free to post these on your national/local group's social media channels and on your individual accounts!
➡️ Share our post on Instagram: FFF international account will post in less than an hour (4:00 pm CET), share it to spread the message!
➡️ On https://standwithukraine.live/ you are able to see and register any protests in solidarity with Ukraine happening near you. Attend them if you are able to, register protests near you if they aren't on the map!
➡️ Share information about what's going on!
➡️ Show solidarity on social media channels! Tag @fff_ukraine on Instagram and Twitter

📢 URGENT GLOBAL STRIKE📢
‼️Internal announcement please read everything carefully ‼️
#StandWithUkraine
👉 It's official: a series of strikes will be conducted in the next weeks starting on Thursday March 3rd!
🇺🇦 Ukraine NEEDS your support.
Fridays For Future Ukraine is calling out all local groups to take to the streets all over the globe. The Russian military has invaded Ukraine and is repeatedly attacking and taking over Ukrainian territories.
Military invasion is an evident violation of human rights, especially in the face of climate and pandemic crises. We are uniting to highlight the need for urgent and clear action in support of Ukraine.
Fossil fuel capitalism is one of the roots of this war and many others conflicts and crises around the world.
That's why, during the next few weeks, we also want to call out the era of fossil fuel, capitalism and imperialism that allows these systemic oppressions. We demand a world where leaders prioritize #PeopleNotProfit .✊
Demonstrate your support and solidarity, #StandWithUkraine! 🇺🇦💙
🎉 The narrative will be released later today as well as our call to action! Until there, start organising your local/national group strike.
If you don't have capacity to organise a local strike until Thursday, please join our digital strike. We will send more information about this soon! 👀
💭 if you have any questions feel free to contact @luisa_santi (+55 11 94301-4176)💚

We are youth climate activists in #Ukraine and we are scared. The war is escalating by the hour we don't know what will happen next. We make it short: We need you to be there for us. We are calling on Fridays for Future to protest globally, this Thursday…
📢 GLOBAL STRIKE TOMORROW 📢

Background:
🇺🇦 Ukraine NEEDS your support.
We’re taking to the streets of cities all over the world tomorrow. Students, schoolchildren, and everyone else - we must stop our daily routine to call for an immediate end to all wars and acts of violence across the world from Ukraine to the Middle East, Afghanistan & beyond. The world is watching Ukraine today, after ignoring the wars in South Sudan, Iraq, Nigeria and the many regions in the global south that have been affected by imperialist and fossil fuels wars during the last decades. We have to end not only the wars but our reliance on fossil fuels in order to break away from the constant cycles of violence in the world.
That's why, during the next weeks, we want to call out the era of fossil fuels, capitalism and imperialism that allows these systemic oppressions. We demand a world where leaders prioritize #PeopleNotProfit .✊

Good 10 minute introductory video that explains climate debt (the debt of the Global North / imperialist countries / imperial core to the Global South / imperial periphery) and passes over quickly the imperialist roots of the climate crisis
"Climate debt is an essential tool in our climate action arsenal because it reveals the current exploitative relationship between the imperial core and periphery and shows us that in order to have any hopes of reversing the extensive chaos of climate change the core needs to reconcile with its violent, dirty, oil-fueled past and join the rest of the world to build a more just and regenerative future"

🇸🇩 On the 3rd June we will Protest for Freedom in Sudan🇸🇩
Since the last Day of Protest not a lot has Changed and the People in Sudan still have no Democracy, no Equality and they are still struggling against Al Burhan.
The 3 June is a Meaningful date because on the 3rd June 2019 there was a big Massacre were a lot of Protesters got killed.
So on the 3rd June we want to go out on to the Streets in Memoriam to all the Victims of Al Burhans Military Regime and the Brutal Dictatorship.

🚫 Our indigenous African Maasai brothers and sisters are facing a violent brutal eviction from their ancestral lands in Tanzania to make way for a safari destination company and a hunting outfit.
🔴 This is an extremely racist and colonialist way that normalises that brutality of our people whilst taking our lands for their profits. Their is currently a media black out in Tanzania and the Maasai are not allowed to air their concerns.
🤮 The companies are being funded by the UK and German governments and with UNESCO leading on saying that the areas are 'OVERPOPULATED' when we know this to be a myth to oppress our people whilst they steal our lands.
✊ Stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters and lets air out our concerns.

So we invite everyone to join our action for climate finance and a focus on loss and damage.
Join us on Thursday, 23.06., 10:00 in front of the Bundestag or online with the hashtag #G7ShowUsTheMoney. Share this message and sharepic and invite everyone to join! 💸

Meanwhile, the biggest polluters , G7, are still not paying for the destruction they have caused!
So we invite everyone to join our action for climate finance and a focus on loss and damage.
Join us on Thursday, 23.06., 10:00 in front of the Bundestag or online with the hashtag #G7ShowUsTheMoney. Share this message and sharepic and invite everyone to join! 💸

⚡️SAVE THE DATE : Join the Marsh drop EACOP social media action Tuesday June 28 ⚡️
What: The #StopEACOP campaign, Insure Our Future campaign and FFF Uganda are organising a digital action demanding that global insurance broker Marsh drop the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).
📆 When: Tuesday June 28 (If you can’t participate on June 28th, please join the action until July 1st ideally)
Why now: Pressure is building within Marsh. More than 100 employees of Marsh McLennan, Marsh’s parent company, signed a letter urging the company not to broker insurance for EACOP, saying the project would have “disastrous consequences” for the climate*.
On June 30, Marsh will have an internal leadership event on sustainability, during which employees are prepared to ask about the company’s decision to support EACOP.
Now is a key moment to put international pressure on Marsh to ask them to drop EACOP. There is precedent for Marsh walking away from projects and now is the time for them to walk away from EACOP.
To achieve this, we need to increase public pressure on them and we need you to take action with us.
Background: A recent investigation* revealed that Marsh, the world’s biggest insurance broker, is responsible for finding insurers for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), the world’s longest heated oil pipeline.
All fossil fuel projects such as EACOP need insurance to move forward. Without insurers willing to cover the risks of EACOP, the developers will likely struggle to raise the funds they need from banks and investors. Already, 20 banks have committed not to fund EACOP.
EACOP will need multiple layers of insurance for the construction phase to move forward, but Total/CNOOC, the pipeline constructors, haven’t found insurers willing to cover it yet. Thanks to the #StopEACOP and Insure Our Future campaign efforts, 8 insurers have committed not to support EACOP. As the broker, Marsh will be in charge of approaching insurers and convincing them to underwrite EACOP.
👊How to participate:
✔️Join the action on Tuesday June 28. Take a selfie photo with your sign saying “Marsh, drop EACOP”. On the bottom corner of your sign add in parenthesis the name of the country you are taking action from. Post your solidarity action selfie on social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook) using #MarshdropEACOP. All the details & key messages will be in this toolkit* that you can access on Monday.
✔️Share the invitation to participate in this digital action with your network and friends. The more participation, the bigger the impact.
✔️Send Marsh an email asking them to drop EACOP (the email tool will be in the toolkit).
📆SAVE THE DATE and join us next Tuesday. It takes no more than 15 minutes.
💚Please share this call to action with as many people and networks as you can. Stand in solidarity with people on the frontlines fighting EACOP and demanding climate justice. Join us next week.
