🌐 People will do anything to communicate with one another, at one point a bunch of countries even used pigeons to send secure messages as that was less likely to be intercepted than the telegraph.
🔗 Well, cross-chain messaging is much faster & much more secure than sending a pigeon with a note taped to it.

Cross-chain messages are similar to regular blockchain transactions, but rather than ending, the transaction creates a message to be sent through Wormhole or Stargate to another chain.
💨 This makes for a more secure and faster route to get what you want.

Got some light reading for you, just a quick little twitter thread about scaling Ethereum.

Ethereum has more liquidity and daily volume than the rest of DeFi combined but when compared to newer blockchains, it’s slower and costs more to use.🐢
As a result, a ton of people have been moving to layer 2 scaling solutions.
But what does that mean and why are they needed? 🧐

🚅 To keep it in a tweet, scaling means increasing the transaction speed and throughput without sacrificing security.
As Ethereum can only handle 15 transactions per second and we've seen gas skyrocket to $150+, you don't need the eyes of a hawk to see why it's needed.

📝 A few ways teams are scaling Ethereum:
Zero-Knowledge (or ZK) Proofs & Rollups & Optimistic Rollups.
Don't know what they are? Well this bird can explain them in a sentence. 😌

Both of these solutions batch together, or "rollup" up to thousands of transactions at a time, off-chain and compute them.
☑️ Once completed, they send the data back to Ethereum mainnet and they are executed (not killed).

The biggest difference between ZK and Optimistic is that optimistic are just that: optimistic. 🌟
They are assumed to be accurate unless someone challenges them.
While zk rollups utilize validity proofs before executing them.
