After half a decade of revisions and cross-ministry debates, Ethiopia has ratified its first Startup Proclamation, bringing long-awaited legal clarity, financing pathways, and innovation incentives.
It provides clear startup classifications, outlines access to public and private financing instruments, and creates pathways for incentives. This includes duty-free privileges, tax breaks, and credit risk guarantee schemes.
The challenge going forward? Implementation. For the proclamation to be more than symbolic, regulatory agencies must move swiftly to operationalize the bill’s provisions, design accessible funding mechanisms, and ensure the incentive schemes are inclusive, transparent, and startup-friendly.

Programming Is Becoming Prompting
🕔 5 Min read time
TL;DR: 🤖➡️💻 Coding is shifting from writing functions to writing prompts. ⚡️ AI makes building faster, but risks shrinking 🎨 creativity + 🧠 problem-solving. The real superpower? ⚖️ Knowing when to code 🖊 and when to prompt ✍️. Fundamentals still matter 🔑 — because when AI breaks ❌, devs have to fix it 🔧.

Programming Is Becoming Prompting
a “prompt engineer.” People are building Full Stack apps with three sentences and a screenshot. Job posts ask for experience with LangChain before they ask about JavaScript. And you're there like… wait, do I even need to code anymore? Let’s talk about it.…
