Shipments from Asia to Britain are likely to be delayed by the huge cargo ship that has run aground in the Suez Canal, Downing Street has warned, as workers race to try and free it.

Russian-state energy company Rosatum suggested ships waiting to use the Suez Canal should divert to the Arctic shipping route, and said the company would help ships stay free of ice floes.
