Since today, August 19th, is Orangutan Day it might be a good idea to plug some organizations you can donate to to make a difference in the lives of these truly amazing wonderful beings

There are only about 41,000 Bornean orangutans and 7,300 Sumatran orangutans left on the face of the earth. This species of ape is at great risk of being lost in the wake of the human-induced “sixth extinction,” making the work of the organizations who fight to protect them ever so important.

As Orangutan Day comes to a close I encourage everyone to look for organizations you can donate to in order to help these men of the forest, and maybe consider volunteering to help out at a sanctuary :)
