You like Monke? Their early work was a little too post-irony for my personal tastes. But when Reject Humanity, Return To Monke came out in ‘20, I think they really came into their own, commercially and Banana-ly. The whole album has a wild, jungle driven sound, and a new sheen of gibbons wailing that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Doge, but I think Monke has a much better art collection.
I think their undisputed masterpiece is the noscript track; "OOOOO AAAAAA AAA" A song so rich in its sublime late twentieth-century anti-industrial revolution messages, most people don’t even separate the art from the artist! But they should, because it’s not just about the anti-establishment radical motivations of a new generation of unga bunga aficionado, it’s also a deep analysis into the poetic duplexity of primal instincts versus modernity! Hey Elon!
