The fact that theon traded this relationship for a man who didn't even like him is one of the biggest fumbles a character could ever do.

The only "noble" and "glorious" sequence in the entire series is Stannis at the Blackwater
GRRM and the series were notorious for subverting core tropes of fantasy, yet despite this there remains one glorious thread amongst all the mud and mire.
Stannis at the Blackwater is reminiscent of Aragorm at Minas Tirith. Despite the wildfire, he presses the attack, with no concern for self. He is first up the ladder and hews his foes as a mighty man would.
He loses - but there is no other man, at any point in the series, who reaches these heights. Jon at the Battle of the Bastards is just suicidal desperation in comparison.
What they did to Stannis in the series - it still hurts me now. Because for a few minutes of one episode he was the only good thing in Westeros

I just realized that Gilly is the most badass person in the seven kingdoms
I just became a dad about 10 days ago. After seeing my wife give birth and the recovery that followed I have come to the conclusion: Gilly is a total badass
We spent 2 days after the birth in a comfy hospital room and a week in bed after that before my wife was fit to walk around our garden.
Right after giving birth, Gilly and Sam spend how long? Days? Weeks!? Makeing there way through the haunted forest in the freezing cold and with very little supplies. Oh and she is keeping her baby alive out there, a task thah is difficult enough in a modern household.
Soo yea, Gilly don't get half the cred she deserves for being one of the hardest characters in the damn books.
(English is not my firsl language and I'm dyslexic as sh't so hopefully this ain't too messy)

[Discussion] In terms of brotherly relationship and affection, which duo was closer? Did Aemond and Aegon really love and care for each other like Viserys and Daemon
