Just finished GOT for the first time and I have a question about season 8. MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW
Was there ever a reason given for why season 8 felt so rushed? Once the battle of Winterfell concluded, it just immediately went through the armies lining up, Daenerys takes out all of Kings Landings defenses, she then annihilates the city, the Clegane brothers battle for a couple minutes (a side plot that's been building for 8 seasons), Cersei and Jamie die, Daenerys gives her terrifying, 1939 era "liberation" speech, Tyrion is taken prisoner, Jon kills Daenerys and is also taken prisoner off screen, they pick a new king, everyone goes their separate ways, credits roll. I sincerely thought the episode was going to end when Tyrion threw his pin, and that there would be at least one more episode. Was the studio pushing them to wrap it up because of a drop in viewership or something? I just don't get how they could drop the ball on such an amazing show.
