Considering Jamie's role as a warrior, why didnt they/he outfit his hand with more combat effective options when in battle?

GOT just cured my biggest self esteem issue???
No spoilers!
Me and my bf have been watching GOT for the first time. We just got to S6 EP10. Anyway, I have always been insecure about my nose, especially in high school when I hadn’t really “grown” in it. I’m almost 20 now, and I have felt more confident, but I still get really insecure about my side profile, and face shape since mine is kinda rounded.
That is until my bf turned to me and said that I have the same nose as Sansa. I was shocked, because I think Sansa is beautiful, probably the prettiest character in the show. I asked him if he was serious/if it was a bad thing, and he said not at all.
Holy crap!! I am still surprised. Yeah, I have the same nose structure but I never thought I looked like her… she has the same face shape as me, too. It’s enough to make my 14 year old self cry. Thanks, GOT, now PLEASE do not kill her off!!

What do the first ten minutes tell the audience?
In the first ten minutes of episode one we see a few interesting things involving rangers.
it is interesting that when the pilot was made, it needed to be re-shot because of various problems. I have read the pilot noscript and read first broadcast episode noscript. In the pilot, the ranger finds sword shards in the snow, gleaming gold, probably the sword of Azor Ahai. In the first episode, the ranger finds a red piece of cloth in the snow. Looking at it frame by frame, I think it is a red scarf. There was no way to know what that meant at the time, but George knew about Melisandre and her connection to red cloth at the time.
We see the group of dead wildlings. I think they are arranged in a pattern that is part of a magic ritual. The young female wildling has blood on her lip. She has been impaled by a branch into a tree. To me it looks like she is a couple feet above ground. Her eyes are that of a dead person.
When the ranger returns a few minutes later, we see the girl now has glowing blue eyes. In the noscript she is referred to as an “other”. It seems she can now move, without touching the ground or making any noise. Could a ritual been performed on her?
People tell me that all means nothing. It just introduces up to ideas of the white walkers. I disagree. I think George had something in mind here. I think it involved Melisandre. It is worth watch those ten minutes again. What do you think?
Bonus question: Who is Fire? Dany? Melisandre? Jon’s mother? Jon’s father? Someone else?

Casual reminder that Essos have Catapults/Trebuchet on their ships (So much so for Westeros for being the more advanced one, technologically)

First time watcher just finished S8 Ep. 3 “The Long Night”
MAN. I’ve been watching GOT 2 episodes a night for the past few months and this episode truly got to me. It was absolutely terrifying for one, all of the dead returning to life and I’m sitting here expecting Cersei to show up with her army any minute now, the sende of dread was crazy. Theon’s redemption almost had me shed a fuckin tear man (he is my favorite character), thought Bran was finally do something useful 😒, ARYA!!! I’ve been able to stay completely spoiler free of the entire show all these years and it’s truly lived up to the hype. I know everyone says it’s anti-climactic but I don’t see how (so far) Man I don’t want it to end.

S6E2 Why is the King so weak?
King Tommens mother (Cersei) was locked up and paraded through the streets naked, humiliated. His wife is still locked up.
Can someone explain why these religious fanatics hold this much power? Why doesn’t the King simply kill them all? I’m not understanding the power hierarchy.

Why do people hate season 6 so much on reddit?
I don't get the hate for it, sure it had problems in battle of bastards, it relied on its peaks entirely, but I honestly love the season, I loved the high Sept explosion and battle of bastards alot, and hold the door too

Is the show still enjoyable even if some parts have been spoiled?, mainly character deaths.
Waiting 15 years to see a show which has finished, obviously some major moments have been spoiled for me such as: Sean Beans death, Jack Gleesons death and the Ice King? Obviously
I'm not sure when in the show these happen, though.

If Robert hadn’t been poiso—sorry, tragically felled by a lucky boar, how do you think he would have died? Would he make it all the way to Dany’s invasion of Kings Landing, or perhaps something less dignified like a heart attack or pox?
