WhatsApp coming back again in US and some parts of Europe!

Bot API v.2.1. is here. We've added support for edited messages and new mentions from Telegram 3.9., and introduced a handful of new methods for group administrator bots.

Your bot can now get a list of administrators in a group, know how many members there are in a group and check a user's current status (administrator, creator, left the group, kicked from the group).

If a group starts getting on your bot's nerves, the bot can now leave it using the new leaveChat method.

Researchers hack Telegram accounts through SS7 protocol

White Hackers from Positive Technologies shown how to exploit SS7 protocol to login into Telegram accounts by intercepting SMS messages.

In order to avoid this, we strongly recommend turning on two-step verification for Telegram.

PS: They’re attacking the SS7 vulnerability, this is not a Telegram problem.

A spanish town (Quart de Poblet, population: 25k) will hold a referendum via Telegram to decide the name of 8 streets with the bot @QuartVotaBOT.

🏆 So maybe this is the first governmental referendum via Telegram of the history.

🚫 Today @SaveVideoBot has been blocked on Apple devices due to Apple’s claims of copyright infringement.

This is not the first bot blocked by Apple’s claims. On December 2015 Apple forced Telegram to block VK music bot

As we wrote on December, there is a simple hack to avoid this blocking:

1⃣ Add the blocked bot to a group.
2⃣ Talk with him like a normal bot.
3⃣ Profit 😎
