Google's Pixel 3a and 3a XL are still scheduled for one last update "by July."
Even though support for the Pixel 3a/XL ended in May, another final update was promised for the device, which was supposed to come out "by July."
Yesterday, along with the June update for current Pixel devices, a new build was released for Pixel 3a/XL [SP2A.220505.(002->006)] with minor fixes and based on the May patch.
And it would seem that here it is, the last update, but Google has now told 9to5Google that this isn’t the final update for 2019’s mid-range phones. That release should still be set for “by July.”

Google Tasks adds a feature to mark important tasks with an star.
This is similar to functionality that already exists in Drive today. In addition, you will also be able to view or sort starred tasks in a new list with the corresponding icon.
It is noteworthy that inside the app, this functionality was discovered back in late August 2021.
This feature will be available to everyone within two weeks starting today.

• Fixed an issue where unlocking the phone with a fingerprint while Always On Display was active would sometimes cause the entire screen to be tinted green temporarily.

Android 13 Beta 3: The Search Your Phone feature can now show results from play store and adds shorctuts to search on YouTube, Maps, Play Store and Settings.
These shortcuts will immediately open the corresponding application with the search query already entered.
Also, some previous features, such as the settings search, are working as well. But it is still not possible to search for app shortcuts and people/chats (although they are displayed when you search for an app).

Android 13 Beta 3: How the predictive "back" gesture works in the current build.
Although Google said that this component will not be available until Android 13 release, the Developer setting has already appeared in the third beta. Our team compiled a simple app that demonstrates how the predictive back gesture works in the current build.
As you can see, it doesn't work perfectly yet. In the second video you can see the official demo from Google, for comparison.

Google to discontinue SafetyNet Attestation API in favor of Play Integrity API.
Google announced its plans to phase out the SafetyNet API in favor of the new Play Integrity API, which was unveiled at Android Dev Summit 2021 in October. Google calls it a more advanced and sophisticated method of protecting apps and games.
Apps that haven't switched to the new API by June 30, 2023, will no longer be able to use SafetyNet Attestation, even on older builds. Accordingly, if they have switched, the old API will continue to work on older versions of the app.
But as of June 2024, the SafetyNet Attestation API will no longer work for all versions of the app.
Developers can check out the migration guide now and start setting up the Play Integrity API through their Play Console.
