This app allows you to adjust the flashlight brightness on Android 13.
In case you've forgotten, Android 13 adds new API that allow you to adjust the flashlight brightness (more info on Esper Blog). Although the information appeared 5 months ago, but better late than never. We have built an app that will allow you to test this feature.
But with one caveat: the brightness adjustment of the flashlight is only available on the Pixel 6, 6 Pro and 6a (also Galaxy S22 on One UI 5 beta) because they support the new version of Camera HAL. Owners of these devices who have installed Android 13 can download our app and use it to adjust the brightness of the flashlight.
The APK comes in the next post.

Android version distribution info for August 2022. Android 12 is installed on 13.3% of all devices.
The August pie chart presumably includes 99.8% of all devices (versus 93.3% in May). As you can see, Android 12 (S) with an API level of 31 takes up 13.5% of the market. This percentage does not include Android 12L (12.1), as it has an API level of 32. So information about newer versions of the OS may lie in the remaining 0.2%.
Meanwhile, Android 11 takes up 27% versus 28.3% in May. The 11th version of the OS remains the most used version of Android to date, and Android 10 takes 22.3% vs. 23.9%. Android 9 Pie has given up its position from 16.2% to 14.5%, but that doesn't stop it from being ahead of Android 12, and meanwhile, it's been four years since the "pie" was released.

YouTube on Android experimenting with replacing the "Explore" button with a navigation drawer.
Previously, in front of the filter carousel at the top of the home page, there was a "Explore" button that opened a separate page. It has now been replaced by a button that brings up a side navigation panel.
When navigating with gestures, the panel can also be called in the usual way - by holding it on the left side of the screen. The sidebar is only available on the home tab.

🇬🇧 The AR statue of Android 12 is live! 🇷🇺 Появилась AR-статуя Андроид 12! android.com/android-12-ar-statue/
Google has unveiled a statue of Android 13.
Even though Google has stopped *officially* giving Android tasty names, it continues to mark each version with a statue accented by a number. The Android 13 statuette is in the form of a swing where the top rung is a "1" and the bench is a "3."
As always, in addition to the actual statuette located in Mountain View, users can access the AR model, which can be opened on ARCore-enabled Android devices.
What's interesting is that on the top rung under the Android head, the word "thirteen" is written in 13 languages, including in 4-bit binary (1101).
You can spin the 3D model of the statue by following the link:

Google is starting to update the design of the profile context menu in its apps.
Almost every Google app has a context menu, accessed through the profile icon in the upper right corner. It usually contains the settings shortcut and many other pages of the app.
Introduced with Material Design 2, this component hasn't changed much since then. But now, Google has decided to take it over, starting with the Messages app. In the picture you can see a before and after comparison.
Now it has more rounded corners and the "Manage your Google Account" button is shaped like a rectangle with rounded corners instead of pill.

Google Duo is officially being renamed Meet. In the coming weeks, Google Meet features will be added to the Google Duo app through app updates, and before the end of the year, the updated Duo app will be renamed Google Meet. The app's existing features…
Google Meet (formerly Duo) prepares a reorganization of the navigation.
The "Three Dots" context menu will be replaced by a profile icon with a menu and navigation drawer ("Hamburger"). This makes the app look more like the original Meet, which also had these elements.
What's notable is that the bar has rounded corners, which matches the updated Material Design 3 Navigation drawer component.
Also, the caption in the search bar will change from "Search contacts or dial" to "Search or enter code." And when you click it, you'll see a new "Enter a Meet Code" button.
These changes were found in the latest 173.0.468251367 version of the app and have not yet been rolled out to users.

How to get unified search in Pixel Launcher on stable Android 13?
Throughout the beta test of Android 13, Google was working on unifying Google Search on the home screen and on the device search in the app box. But in the final release we got the same search as on Android 12.1.
Google has said to 9to5Google that it is aware of the problem and that it will be resolved "in an upcoming release." However, you can try it now with a simple set of ADB Commands. But with one caveat, the current implementation may be randomly missing some search functions, like shorcuts and etc.
