Google Photos will have a new Memories feed on its home page.

The new experiment features a slider above the navigation bar between "All Photos" and "Memories" in the Photos tab. When you switch to Memories, you'll see a feed with photos of certain events presented as collages with different frame shapes.

Clicking on them will open the usual interface of memories in the form of stories. There's also an option to rename memories by long tap or a special 'Edit' button on the top right."

For now, this is an experiment and is not available to users.

Google plans to introduce the Google Pixel Watch 2 along with the Pixel 8.

9to5Google's source reports that the company may unveil the second generation of its own WearOS-powered watch as early as this year. The Pixel Watch 2 (name yet to be confirmed) is currently scheduled to be released alongside the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro in October.

The company will most likely stick to the same design and keep backward compatibility with the the first gen bands. Definitely will reduce the display bezel and will likely use a new chip. (The first gen used a four-year-old Samsung Exynos 9110).

Google Weather on Android will finally get a Material You redesign.

Some Googler on Twitter (no link, unfortunately) showed the upcoming redesign of the weather page, which involves a single main feed, instead of three pages "Today", "Tomorrow" and "10 days". All of this data is now arranged underneath each other. Perhaps there will be expandable sections with info on each day.

In addition to this, the search bar has also been changed to a pill shape, just like the rest of the Google apps. Whether it will be a separate app, or still a built-in Google Search solution, remains to be seen.

Luckily, everyone's favorite frog has stayed in place ;)

Today is Google I/O 2023!

Today's event will talk about Google's latest solutions, products and technologies, from artificial intelligence and cloud computing to mobile and web technologies.

But of course, the most interesting part for you will be Android 14 and the new devices from Google, namely the Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet with docking station and the new color for the Pixel Buds A-series.

It's also possible that the company will show a teaser of the upcoming Pixel 8, 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2.

Google is already promoting the Pixel Fold with NBA stars.

On the YouTube channel Made by Google appeared the video "Google Pixel x NBA: The Greatest Watch Party", which is available only by link. And it was published by twitter account GooglePixel_US. Most likely, the video was supposed to appear after the I/O event, but it turned out as it happened. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The commercial demonstrates key features of the foldable device's software, such as adapting the Meet app when the device is fully or partially opened or taking selfies with the rear camera when the image is displayed on an external display.

Gmail for Android will soon add a navigation rail on large screens.

Like on phones, there are no tab labels. And the current page indicator is shaped like a circle instead of a pill. A similar implementation is also used in the upcoming Phone app redesign for tablets.

It is not known when Google is going to deploy this component for all users.
