[Latest Telegram Update ❌]

I apologise for using this channel to such ends, but the ends justify the means.


Telegram has been a huge part of my life, same for the rest of the team and community. I've always felt safe on the platform, until today. Today, I feel like I have lost freedom and control.


Here's what that update does :

Say Bob and Alice have a normal chat, in PM (not a secret chat, a normal PM).
Bob can now delete a message sent by Alice from BOTH sides, without Alice's approval.

This means that all of the messages you have ever and will ever send are at risk of being deleted FOREVER by your correspondants. (Even by mistake)

None of us thinks this a good update, bring danger, scam, and making telegram unsafe, which hurts because we love Telegram.

[Server Issues]

Dear wuffers, the server is currently experiencing issues. Please stand by while we try and resolve the problem.

The bots are back for the moment! We hope everything to be stable now, but we can't guarantee it to be completely over yet... Anyway, enjoy playing!

[Spambot Attacks]
Since recently, many many userbots are joining groups again. Userbots are actual users, not bots, but controlled by a program, not by a human. This time, they changed their strategy: They join the group and instantly leave it again. The reason behind it? They want their join notification, and then a link in their bio, to be clicked, in order to gain members/views on their channels.
In order to stop this, we are global banning all those spambots from Executrix, so they will automatically be banned in any group.
Additionally, executrix will from now on delete the join messages of these spambots, so they aren't clicked and their mass joining becomes pointless.

At this moment, there are exactly 4887 such spambots in our global ban list, and it keeps increasing each day. If you encounter spammers with this behavior too, please come to @greywolfsupport and help us getting them all global banned. Thank you!

[Executrix Update]

Hey there, we just released two new features to @ExecutrixBot:

- In the /menu, under Flood, you can now set a custom cooldown for the @pingtime command. The possible values range from 10 to 60 minutes.

- Also in the /menu, under General, you will see a new option "SolveOwnReports". If this option is enabled, users can use the /solved command to solve their own reports, in case of an accidental report or if the problem resolved itself. Note that this will only work for reports made after this update.

Werewolf is having issues, the problem is on telegram's side. Maybe executrix will die too, all we can do is waiting for Telegram to fix their servers :/

[Spamming the Bot]

TL;DR: You spam, you're banned.

Sometimes, the werewolfbot decides to pause for an electrolyte break. He gets a bit of a rest, and then goes back to work. The problem is, he's a bit selfish, and no one is around to take his job while he has a break. A bit irresponsible really. When he comes back, he's got to work twice as hard to process all of the requests people sent him while he was on break.

Now, apparently some users, who might not understand the intricacies of the interwebz seem to think that sending the bot more requests while it's not answering might make it answer. Some are more extreme still, and think the likelyhood of the bot replying to them is linked to how many times per second they send commands. This is VERY damaging to the bot, and these people should be told off for doing so.

Actually they have. If you've been spamming commands at the bot, you are now restricted from using the bot in the future.

Also, the bot has plenty of responsibilities already. It doesn't need more. If the bot is admin in your group, please demote him. Because if it is admin, it will receive every single message sent there, and have even more unnecessary work to do.

For the people who spam groups where the bot is admin, you've also been restricted from using the bot any further.

Telegram decided to stop delivering messages to the werewolf bots. While there is nothing we can do about it, we'll take the opportunity to perform a server reboot. We sadly can't tell when the bots are going to be back, as the problem is on Telegram's side.

Also please note that we are permanently banning whoever is flooding our bots, no matter whether they are down at that time or not.

Edit: Still instable. Both werewolf and Executrix keep receiving and not-receiving randomly.

After a while of more issues, the bots have been running fine for quite a while now! Hopefully they will stay good! :)

[Beta Groups]

We decided to clear out some inactive beta groups. So there are 12 groups with the beta moderator that haven't even played 200 games in this year. Since we need to have active beta testers, we would like to thank those 12 groups for their help until now, and open up those 12 spots to 12 new active groups!

If your group is actively playing with @werewolfbot and would like to use the beta moderator to help us testing new features, get your group's id with the /chatid@werewolfbot command and drop us a message "#applybeta CHATID" in @greywolfsupport (where CHATID is your group's ID)! We are looking forward to new beta testers!

Please keep in mind that the global staff will decide which of the applying groups are going to get the beta bot, depending on your past game activity and other criteria.
