We are getting closer to a public release of the new role assignment system, which will create balanced games using random roles. It is currently in beta testing. This new role assignment system will replace normal game mode. There is also a chance that we will remove some of the restrictions on chaos, creating more unbalanced games.... we will see ;P
In the meantime, work is being started on the next major update! Stay tuned for more things to come :)

Do not invest money in shady Ponzi Schemes!
A ponzi scheme called "Lara with me" which uses a Telegram Bot to communicate with its users/victims has gained quite a lot of attention lately (you might have seen spam by its users/victims in public groups in the desperate attempt to gain more victims, which are needed to keep the scheme running).
"Lara" promises a daily return of 3% on an investment. That this is beyond impossible should be clear to everybody!
Just think about it! It would mean for each $1 invested, you'd get $48,482 after one year (1,03^365).
If the owners of Lara With Me actually had such a thing, they wouldn’t be operating a shady investment scheme, they'd be the richest people in history.
Once the owners realize that the newly invested funds aren't big enough to meet the 3% a day ROI obligations, they'll do a runner with the money left - possibly millions - and because the victims paid using bitcoin there will be no way to get "investments" back.

We've completely reworked normal game mode. It is now "balanced" game mode, and will no longer choose specific roles based on game size. Instead, it will choose random roles, but balance the game. Essentially, it's chaos with balance.
This is still fairly new, and over time we may need to adjust the values of various roles. Feedback is always appreciated.
Other changes:
Tons of small bugfixes, refactored the way the night cycle works, etc etc.
As for the other big update, I promise we are working on it. We hope to be beta testing it fairly soon, then public release within a couple weeks.
Side note:
If you are watching the GitHub repo for werewolf, you will not see any commits / merged PRs for awhile, until we get the update done. We are currently working in a private repo. Once we are ready to release, we will switch back to the public repo and update it.

Hey everyone @werewolfbutlerbot now allows you to set #extras that send a gif with a caption like this:
There is currently a bug where if the harlot visits the serial killer, a message is sent to the group that appears to be the message TO the harlot, saying they slipped into {players} house and were killed. The message is in fact supposed to be in the group, but is the wrong string key. The person in the message the bot says is the SK, is actually the harlot. This will be fixed in the next update - which I'm currently too far into to fix that message without breaking the current work. Apologies for this :/
