One reason why I think the Trump administration is trying to help out Russia right now is because the Trump administration wants to create a rift between Russia and China. Russia is like a giant that’s also an idiot, a totally predictable idiot, that will never be a serious threat to the USA/Europe by itself, that’s why the US government feels comfortable aiding Russia when it’s on the verge of imploding.

I’m not convinced that the Trump administration is simply under the spell of Russian propaganda, because everyone in Washington knows that Russia is a junior partner in any relationship with another major power.

Washington may or may not see China as an outright enemy, but if China and Russia are best friends, that’s a threat to US world hegemony.

At this point, anyone supporting AfD should be viewed with extreme suspicion. It seems like the AfD is just Germany’s equivalent of the MAGA movement, but worse, and with more of a zigger twist — sounds like it’s actually just Make the GDR Great Again.
